ACE coach Steve Glockner reveals plan for pre-season tournament
ACE will start their competitive 2018 season on Saturday in the Gorilla Sports Challenge.
Beerwah and Glasshouse United, nicknamed the Beegees, are our first Group B opponents at Narangba on Saturday, kick-off 7.30pm.
We then have matches against North Pine, Narangba and Maroochydore before possible semi-finals and finals fixtures.
Beegees visited Wolter Park last month for a pre-season match against Moreton Bay United, who won 6-2.
North Pine have been regular opponents for ACE, but Narangba and Maroochydore less so.
The Gorilla Challenge games will be used by new ACE coach Steve Glockner, pictured, to trial players ahead of the Brisbane Premier League season in February.
“These games will be used to give opportunities to the younger ACE players that have been coming through the ranks over the last few years,” said new ACE coach Steve Glockner.
“We are still rebuilding our team so I expect a number of different players to be trialled during this competition.
“The 2018 Brisbane Premier League season starts at the end of February so with still eight weeks to go I am confident our team will be ready for our first game against Grange.”
