Pouria joins Jets
ACE coach Pouria Nabi joins Moreton Bay United after Adam Piddick steps down
POURIA Nabi, the ACE head coach, has joined Moreton Bay United.
He replaces Adam Piddick who has stepped down from his role with the Moreton Bay United (MBU) senior team – but remains Jets’ Technical Director.
After three years with ACE, Nabi now teams up with Dave Harris in Jets’ senior coaching team for next season.
Adam Piddick made his decision after three years with Jets’ top side during which it won the Premiership and Grand Final double in 2015 and reached the semi-finals of the national NPL Finals.
This year Jets won the pre-season Silver Boot Cup, the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Grand Final and last 16 of the Westfield FFA Cup for the first time.
"We have had three seasons in charge of the senior team, two of them being very successful due to all the hard work from our playing group and coaching staff,” said Piddick.
"I would like to thank the MBU committee for believing in me and taking a chance on me three years ago.
"It’s with a heavy heart that I will be stepping down, but I walk away with a smile knowing the playing group is in a very good place to further its success in years to come.
"I especially thank the playing group. The culture you set this season was a pleasure to be involved in - courage, belief, mateship.
"And lastly Davy H (Harris) - thanks for all your hard work. None of this could have happened without your dedication and hard work."
Greg Bradley, chairman of Moreton Bay United, paid tribute to Adam Piddick and his achievements with the senior squad.
“He has lifted the professionalism right across the board, bought so many young players through and given them a chance,” said Bradley.
“It sets us up for a bright future.
“I think its fantastic Adam will still be on board as the technical director and will still be able to drive the values we have as a club.”
Pouria Nabi, who missed leading ACE to its first BPL play-offs last season by just two goals, described his appointment as “a really exciting opportunity”.
