Plenty of smiles from the girls at ACE Spring Football Clinic during training at Wolter Park on Wednesday.
ALBANY Creek Excelsior’s free girls’ clinics have been a huge success – again.
Now in its third year, the program for players Under 10-18 has expanded every year.
The four-week, eight-session spring clinics, which finish next week, had close to 70 players, of all abilities, register.
With the 2019 season fast approaching, ACE is preparing to field Division One teams in all ages from Under 12-16, Under 18 and Women’s Capital League.
“We have been delighted with the number of players at the clinics and hope they have enjoyed it as much as we have,” ACE Director of Female Football Greg Bradley said.
“We are a community club and we cater for players of every age group. Girls’ and women’s football is growing all the time and is as important to us as every other section.
“That is one of the reasons we run this program and so many coaches volunteer their time to help.”
ACE already has coaches in place for many of its girls and women’s teams in 2019.
Jamie Sanckson will coach the ACE Capital Women’s team
Morgan Joy the ACE Under 18s
Nathan Charles – ACE Under 16s
Steve McAteer – ACE Under 15
Scott Beale and assistant Matt Van Daalen – ACE Under 13
Coaches for Under 12 and 14 will be announced in due course.
