ACE begin their pre-season fixtures tomorrow as the countdown to the defence of their Premier League title gathers pace.
Capital League 1 side AC Carina are the visitors to Wolter Park on Sunday with the Reserves kicking-off at 3pm and Seniors at 5pm.
It comes just less than eight weeks to Round One of the BPL when promoted St George are our first opponents at Wolter Park on March 7.
It is the start of three successive home games to launch the campaign with Caboolture and The Gap to follow before ACE travel to Grange.
May then sees three consecutive games against our main rivals for last season’s crowns – Toowong, Taringa and Bayside.
ACE will face promoted North Star, our near neighbours and rivals, at the end of the first round of fixtures and in the final match of the regular season.
ACE coach Steve Glockner knows is it a “tricky” start to his side’s bid for a third successive Premiership.
“It’s always difficult playing a team which has been promoted into your league first up,” he said. “They (St George) have got everything to prove, they will be full of energy, full of beans for this one.
“But so many games are difficult for very different reasons. For St George, newly promoted, they will want to prove a point. It’ll be tricky for us.”
ACE fixtures in the Premier League Reserves competition precede each senior men’s game at the same venues.
