ACE will ‘turn the clock’ back on Saturday when more than 60 players take part in a Masters exhibition game at Wolter Park.
All have had – and many continue to have – a significant impact on the history of our club, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
Sponsored by Voltaren and Qld Physiotherapy, the two teams coached by Noel Blake and Mick Hornby will battle it out from 5.30pm.
Coach of the 80s Boys Noel Blake is pictured with some of the players, in their younger days, who he will be overseeing again on Saturday!
80s Boys squad – Mark Ward, Paul Scells, Darren Scells, Darryl Kyle, Anthony Hamilton, Scott Hammond, Paul Tucker, Keith Hill, Tony Lister, Terry Gray, Darren Fittkau, Tony Scott, Scott Salthouse, Geoff Pedwell, Rodney Pedwell, Tony Dooley, Jeff Moore, Scott Adamson, Andrew Skoien, Chris McKenna, Dave Hall, Gareth Pugh-Jones, Greg Bradley, Andrew Hauck, Frank Heim, Joe Amaraddio, Andy Latham, Eddie Kocwa, Stephen Diss, Paul Gray.
Mick Hornby, former ACE captain and coach of the Naughties, said: “I’m looking forward to turning back the clock and reconnect with some of the best people I’ve ever played with.
“Seeing how they’ve aged it may simply end up being a slow motion version of former glory days!”

Following the game, there will be a live stream of the Women’s World Cup game between France and Brazil from 8pm in the clubhouse.
Spectators are welcome to join us – or stay on after the preceding two games – and enjoy the match as well as stories about the good old days over a beer or two.
