Matthew Sanchez and Ally Russell have set new targets after re-signing for ACE for the 2020 season.
The strikers put pen to paper last week with
the 2019 Premier League champions and grand final winners.
Both played significant roles in securing that double – but both want to do better next year.
“I don’t think Albany Creek saw the best of me
last season. Definitely not,” said Ally, who scored 14 goals in 14 games.
“I’d like to top the (BPL) scoring charts next season. It didn’t quite go to plan for me last year, but I was happy Ryan (Shaughnessy) got it for Albany Creek.”
Ally said a “couple of other clubs” were interested
in him or 2020, but “when you win the league and grand final it’s not a hard
decision to stay” he said.
Matthew Sanchez was also keen to stay at ACE after finding the back of the net six times in Premier League matches last season and winning the ACE Coach’s Award and men’s Senior Club Person of the Year award.
“I feel like this is a home club for me,” he said. “It’s good to be able to come back after a good season and go again.
“The main thing is to help the squad as much as I can. But on a personal note I’ll be trying to get a little more game time and I’d to get a little higher in the goal tally as well.”
